January 2014
Happy New Year!!! Are you excited for what God is going to do this year in His Church and in and through you??
As a church here in London, this is our annual week of Fasting and Praying, where we take time to focus on the year ahead by dedicating our lives afresh to God. It is about seeking to know God more, to be empowered by the Holy Spirit and about aligning our plans to the plans and purposes God has for us, individually, and collectively as a church. His plans are always better than ours and will always include making disciples.
Some people fast from food and some fast from things like television or Facebook. I would encourage you also to take some time out and seek God about His plans for you this year. We have a Prayer and Fasting Guide that you can use by clicking here. I’ve had a great week so far!
This past month has brought about some changes for me. As most of you know, I have been helping out with our Youth Team on Sundays once a month for quite a while. I will no longer be a part of this team but I will still mentor some of the teenagers and take part in summer camp.
I will now oversee our Welcome Team on Sundays. I have been overseeing follow-up for all new people so this make sense as a good transition to help out this team. People feeling welcome as they come into church for the first time can make all the difference in whether they come back or not – and that’s with not even hearing the preaching!
I’ve also had the privilege of meeting up with many new people this past month and beginning to see them experience God in new ways and seeing transformation taking place!
At the end of this month I will be making my annual trip to Florida to see family and friends and to raise some much needed financial support.
I would love to meet up with those of you who are available in Florida so please contact me so we can get together. I will be there for 3 weeks.
For those of you who aren’t in Florida, hopefully we can catch up by phone or some other way. Thank you for all of your prayers and support in every way!
Lots of Love
